
General Nursing And Midwifery (GNM) course focuses provision of care to individuals, families, and communities at large. The course can be pursued after successful completion of the 10+2 in any stream from a recognized educational Board, with a minimum aggregate score of 40%. After the GNM nursing course training completion you have to do compulsory 6-month internship training in Government Hospital.
After the completion of the course the job opportunities are such as Clinical Nurse Specialist, Legal Nurse Consultant, Nursing In-charge,Travelling Nurse, Assistant, Emergency Room Nurse, Midwife Nurse. The recruiting agencies like Indian Red Cross Society, Indian Nursing Council, State Nursing Councils, Metro Hospital, AIIMS, Fortis Hospital, Orphanage etc give employment to candidates with GNM qualification in our country.
After the GNM course the candidates have an opportunity to also work in hospitals abroad. The requirement is three years work experience and getting a B grade in all sections of OET (Occupational English Test) or 7 band in all sections of the IELTS ( International English Language Testing System) exam.
